Dr. Sahar Nasr: Egypt is working during its leadership of the African Union (AU) to improve the investment environment in the African countries.. And coordination with international institutions to support infrastructure projects in the continent.
On Sunday 25 August 2019, the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr met with President of the Togolese National Assembly “Togolese Parliament" Ms. Yawa Tsegan, in the presence of Executive Vice President of GAFI. Advisor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and Advisor to the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Ambassador Reda Bebars.
The minister admitted Egypt's keenness to enhance economic and investment relations with Togo, pointing out to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directives to work on empowering women both in Egypt and Africa. In addition to achieving economic integration and coordination with international institutions to support the establishment of a number of infrastructure projects in Africa.
The Minister invited the President of the Togolese National Assembly to participate in the 2019 Africa Conference, which will be held under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during the period from 22 to 23 November in the New Administrative Capital. This conference will be attended by heads of states and governments, ministers from various African countries and about 2,000 representatives of Egypt's development partners, businesspersons and investors to boost investment in Africa.
The minister pointed out that Egypt is seeking to benefit from its current leadership of AU to support the investment environment in all African countries, deepen investment relations, and transfer Egyptian expertise in improving the investment environment.
The President of the Togolese National Assembly admitted Togo's keenness to strengthen investment relations with Egypt and increase bilateral trade under Egypt's leadership of AU, which contributes to raising the economic level in both countries.
She praised Egypt for having eight female ministers as well as the significant economic success Egypt has achieved under the leadership of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
She also praised success stories achieved by Egyptian investments in Togo in establishment, education and agriculture fields.
Following this, the Minister was accompanied by Ms. Yawa Tsegan, in a visit to the Investor Services Center, where she listened to an explanation from Advisor to the Minister for Promoting Investment Mr. Malek Fawaz, about Egypt's investment map, the approach used to promote the various investment opportunities in Egypt, and the services the Center provides for Investors through 66 government entities that issue all licenses to investors in an automated way.
The Minister also was accompanied by Ms. Tsegan, in a visit to Fekretak Sherketak Center to support entrepreneurs and Fekretak Sherketak bus; where Ms.Tsegan listened to an explanation from Manger of the Center Eng. Islam Mohamed about the services provided by the Center to entrepreneurs such as workshops and lectures.
Ms. Yawa Tsegan praised the pilot Egyptian experience in improving the investment environment, which she described as inspiring for the African countries.
