In the Presence of Ministers of Investment and International Cooperation, Antiquities and Communications, the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation Launches the Second Edition of Egypt's Investment Map

Dr. Sahar Nasr: The new edition includes the addition of 2000 new investment opportunities as the total number of opportunities reaches to 3000 in all sectors .. Giving the investor a comprehensive and updated vision of the investment climate in Egypt.

Minister of Antiquities: Investment opportunities in the antiquities sector .. For the first time in Egypt's history, the aim is to contract with the private sector to manage services areas at archaeological sites in the Grand Egyptian Museum and Pyramids.

Minister of Communications: Egypt has great investment opportunities in incorporation and management of technological cities.

Malek Fawaz: The second edition of the map includes the option of creating an electronic account for those who looking for investment opportunities, adding an opportunity to the list of preferred investment opportunities and sending investment opportunities to other investors.

The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and the Minister of communications make a tour at Investor Service Center and agree on further cooperation in services' automation.

The center witnesses incorporation of more than 30.5 thousand companies since President El Sisi has opened it on February 2018 so far with a total capital of 79.3 billion Pounds.

The Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation announced the launch of the second edition of Egypt's Investment Map on Monday, 15 July 2019, in the presence of Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al Anani, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Executive Vice President Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and adviser to the Minister for Investment Promotion Affairs Mr. Malek Fawaz.

The second edition includes 2,000 new investment opportunities, as well as the option of creating an electronic account for those who looking for investment opportunities. This account will offer a number of advantages to the users, the most important of which is adding an opportunity to the list of preferred investment opportunities, sending those opportunities to other investors, uploading opportunities' files, comparing between them and submitting suggestions to develop the map.

Dr. Sahar Nasr said that the second edition of Egypt's Investment Map is the result of the Ministry's efforts of using information technology to create an attractive investment climate. This edition is considered to be a strong addition to the first edition of the Egyptian Investment Map initiated by H.E. President Abdel Fatah El Sisi in February 2018 during the opening of Investor Services Centers (ISCs). This map has been drawn in accordance with Egypt's new Investment Law and has been adopted as an official map of the state through which all investment opportunities from all economic sectors displayed, in order to facilitate procedures for all investors and introduce them opportunities, incentives and privileges that encourage investment provided by the new investment law and its executive regulations for the investor, wherever and in the easiest way.

The Minister declared that the second edition of Egypt's investment map includes 2,000 new investment opportunities as the total number of opportunities reach to 3,000 with all their data and coordinates, and this edition includes all forms of investment, whether free zones, investment technological or industrial; it also includes a vision for national projects and investment opportunities. The most important of these projects are the Suez Canal Economic Zone, New Administrative Capital, El-Jalalah City, New Alamein City, The 1.5 Million Feddan Project and Grand Egyptian Museum. Therefore the investor can also find all the detailed information about investor services centers and services provided by them, facilities and services available near the investment opportunities, in addition to information about the average wages, the unemployment rate and the population in the governorate which includes investment opportunities.

The minister added that the updates included in the second edition of the map give the investor a comprehensive and updated vision of the investment climate in Egypt, where the map data is updated daily by the team that makes a great effort to collect and revise these data.

The Minister stressed that Egypt's investment map includes various opportunities in terms of the value of funding required. It includes opportunities for establishing SMEs, as well as opportunities for establishing large projects and opportunities for investment in national projects.

Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled El Anany thanked Dr. Sahar Nasr for her efforts in supporting Egyptian museums, whether by providing international finance for developing museums and archaeological sites; and attracting investment in the archaeological sector. He said that for the first time in Egypt's history, the aim is to contract with the private sector to manage services areas of archaeological sites in the Great Egyptian Museum and pyramids. This experiment is going to be expanded to the rest of the archeological sites.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat reviewed the investment opportunities in the Information and communications technology (ICT) sector. He pointed out that the role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is to manage the technological system. Egypt has great investment opportunities in the establishment and management of technological cities and investments in Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

Mr. Malek Fawaz, Advisor to the Minister for Investment Promotion Affairs, reviewed Egypt's investment map. He added that the second edition of the map includes the option of creating an electronic account for those who are looking for investment opportunities. Creating an electronic account offers a number of advantages to users; the most important of which is adding an opportunity to the list of preferred investment opportunities, sending those opportunities to other investors, uploading opportunities' files, comparing between them and submitting suggestions to develop the map.

Fawaz said that the map is not only about investment opportunities, but it also provides the information needed by the investor to make an investment decision, such as pre-incorporation information, electronic services available to investors, laws, and regulations, incentives and investment, success stories in Egypt, as well as macroeconomic indicators. The map also includes a virtual library of all legislation related to investment and promotional publications for investment in Egypt.

The Center includes 66 representatives of government entities who are responsible for issuing all licenses to investors in an automated way through two steps and during a day, as well as responding to investors’ inquiries. The center witnessed incorporation of more than 30.5 thousand companies since President El Sisi has opened it on February 2018 with a total capital of  79.3 billion Pounds.
