GAFI CEO Discusses with Dubai Chambers CEO Ways to Boost Investment and Partnerships between Egypt and the UAE

As part of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade’s efforts, and in line with the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to strengthen economic and investment relations between Egypt and the UAE, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI CEO), met with Mr. Mohamed Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, in the presence of Ms. Manal Abdel Tawab, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in the UAE. The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation and support partnerships between the two countries.
Dr. Mohamed Awad underscored the importance of leveraging the role of Dubai Chambers in connecting the business community with global markets, noting the potential to activate the role of Dubai Chambers’ Cairo office in introducing Emirati companies to the investment opportunities available in Egypt and supporting companies seeking to expand into the Egyptian market. He also highlighted opportunities for Egyptian companies to leverage Dubai as a gateway to regional and international markets.
He added that there are opportunities to establish new projects and partnerships across a number of sectors, including various industries, logistics, renewable energy, technology, tourism and real estate development, as well as manufacturing activities linked to supply chains and re-export operations. He affirmed GAFI’s readiness to provide the necessary support to Emirati companies operating in Egypt and to promptly address their inquiries and challenges.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Ali Rashed Lootah stressed the importance of maintaining communication and coordination between Dubai Chambers and GAFI, which would help introduce the business community to the opportunities available in both countries and create further avenues for establishing new partnerships and projects.
