As part of a series of meetings with Italian companies held on the sidelines of the Arab Italian Business Forum in Milan, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI CEO), held two meetings with representatives of Idrostudi and KLN Project to explore cooperation opportunities in water management and logistics services and open new avenues for investment partnerships. The meetings were held in line with the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.
Dr. Mohamed Awad met with Ms. Baya Aissaoui, International Business Development Manager at Idrostudi, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in water management and the use of expertise and technology to develop water projects. These include water desalination, water resource management, the development of water supply and wastewater networks, water consumption rationalization, and reducing water losses. Such efforts would support water security and enhance the efficiency of the water system, in coordination with the relevant Egyptian authorities, while exploring partnership and expansion opportunities in the Egyptian market.
Moreover, GAFI CEO met with Ms. Federica Placidi, Regional Director of KLN Project (Italia) S.p.A., in the presence of Mr. Fabio Belli, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, to discuss cooperation opportunities in logistics services, supply chain management, and the transportation of heavy industrial equipment.
The two sides discussed opportunities for the company to benefit from Egypt’s free zones and the Suez Canal Economic Zone to establish a regional operations and logistics services hub. This would support the company’s expansion into North African and Middle Eastern markets and enhance supply chain efficiency.
